• How to cancel or modify an ad

In order to simplify the ad submissing process as much as possible, we have eliminated the need for membership and registration. However, because you do not have to register, the management of ads by users is now limited. If you elect to place an ad without registering, you may only cancel or modify your ad at the computer & web browser that you originally placed the ad from. This is done by way of a cookie place on your computers web browser at the time your ad is submitted. Because of this, enabling cookies on your browser is required. Please try not to delete your cookies as this will eliminate your ability to do this yourself.

To cancel, modify, or renew your ad yourself, you can:
1: Use the confirmation email you received at the time your ad was placed and click on the desired link

2: Find your ad in our classified ad section. You can use the search function to help find your ad. At the top of your ad, you will see a Cancel or Modify link. Simply click on either link to confirm your desired action.

If you do not have a confirmation email or cannot find your ad or if the links do not exists, please send an email to webmaster@adtaker.com, along with as much information as possible about your ad, and we will take care of the rest for you.

• What if my browser does not or cannot accept cookies?

If this is the case, we simply request that you send yourself an email confirmation at the time your ad is placed. Simply provide your email address in the appropriate field of the ad submission page and select the Yes option. In that email, you will find instructions on how to modify or cancel your ad automatically. Please remember, we respect your privacy and we hate spam. Rest assured that when you provide your email address to us, we will never share that information with anyone.

• How to write an eye-catching ad

Sometimes, it's not so easy to know where to start when composing your ad. Here are a few suggestions that may be helpful to you if you are not sure where to start.

1. Make good use of the headline
   The headline is the first thing people see. Start with an accurate & brief description of the item you are listing. For example, when advertising a car, start with the year, make, model & trim of the vehicle if applicable.
   ie: 2005 HONDA ACCORD LX.
   For a rental or real estate ad, try starting with the number of bedrooms & bathrooms and location of the property.
   ie: LARGE 2+2 APARTMENT IN MANHATTAN.
   Then include the asking price of the item.
   ie: 2005 HONDA ACCORD LX - $19,990 or LARGE 2+2 APARTMENT IN MANHATTAN - $3500/ MONTH.
2. Keep the ad description short & to the point
   Although you are not limited in words or characters in your ad, a short and brief description far outweighs an ad that is lengthy or extremely wordy. Describe your item by using key points & phrases that adds value such as "new tires", "excellent condition", "newly remodeled", "great location", etc. Try not to write a novel as people may skip reading your ad even if your headline caught their eyes.
3. Picture - Picture - Picture - Picture - Picture
   A picture is worth a thousand words. Add pictures of your item if at all possible. We allow up to 5 pictures per ad. Be sure the pictures are of decent quality, as poor quality images may negatively affect your ad as well. Include pictures that you yourself would like to see & share with your friends and family. If you have a bad quality photograph, it is better to NOT include it in your ad and rather, describe the item verbally or by email when a perspective buyer contacts you.
4. Don't forget to include your phone number and/or email address
   We can't emphasize this enough. A well written ad is useless if no one can contact you. We try our best to check and remind you to include some form of contact information in your ad, but we all forget once in a while. Please double-check to make sure your phone number and/or email address is in the body of your ad. We recommend you append it towards the end of your ad since this will help isolate the contact information and make finding your info easier for your perspective buyers.

Remember, these are merely suggestions to help you write an easy-to-read & easy-to-find ad on our site. You are free to write your ad any way you like (as long as it is within our guidelines & terms). • How long does an ad run?

Typically, an ad submitted with us will run for a total of 30 days. However, due to the nature of the type of ad being placed, your ad may run for more or less than 30 days depending on the category. See below to see how long ads run for in a each category:
